Joyous Spring!
I've found myself in a state of hibernation these past few months, but in my neck of the woods the temperatures are rising and along with them- so are the birds, the wilderness, and myself.
As far as what's up next for Howlite Apothecary?~
As April approaches it shall bring with it our 6-month anniversary 🌸 this is such an amazing achievement and we are thrilled to celebrate with you! Keep an eye out for promotions and new options/items in the shop.
Now, what you really want to know:
When are CANDLES coming?
We are committed and determined to always put forth our best efforts and offer the highest quality products- this means we have a ~lot~ of research and troubleshooting when it comes to new skills/products. This means we are going to develop our candles with the utmost care and patience.
As of right now- this means we are expecting to have candle options ready by this summer (2023), and will continue to update on our progress in this endeavor.🤓
A little personal update, for fun🦋:
I've been embracing the importance of my attention and what I give that attention to- and I've been honoring that importance by removing myself from the Online World (social media/unrestricted media consumption/etc.)
So, the ways I chose to adjust my behavior to better match my priorities?
Delete all social media apps off of my phone.📵
No using screens for entertainment while the sun is up.🌞
if this made your eyes go wide, believe me, you aren't alone in feeling that this approach may be a bit extreme.
However, for me personally, I find my most monumental changes are the ones I commit to, wholeheartedly, from the start. I enjoy pushing myself, and feeling uncomfortable or nervous is always going to happen when you are uprooting anything that has been entwined into your routines.
For the first few days I found myself feeling painfully bored, and actually felt an increase in my anxiety from the lack of stimulation/percieved connection to loved ones/decrease in happy chemicals that electronics were feeding my brain. Once this passed, I began to feel so much lighter and much less stressed overall.
It turns out, all of that scrolling and watching was robbing me of one of the things I love most about myself: my creativity.
Boredom and creativity go hand-in-hand, and by allowing my mind to be clear from the moment I wake up I was able to give my attention to the ideas and skills I had been unable to see through the alluring Media Consumption Pastime that so many of us fall into.
To wrap up:
This Spring- I encourage all of you to push yourself out of your comfort zone, or to sacrifice one habit that isn't bringing you genuine fulfillment and to replace it with something that makes your heart soar.🤍
